Epsom salt by ESC Laboratoire or magnesium sulfate looks like a white, crystalline powder that is 99% magnesium sulfate heptahydrate. Specifically, it is a mixture of magnesium, sulphide, oxygen and water. Discovered in the 17th century, it was traditionally used to cleanse the body and relieve digestive disorders. It exists naturally in the waters of Epsom Fountain in England, from which it takes its name, but it can also be reconstituted from other compounds such as Dolomite. Orally, the benefits of Epsom salt for the body are mainly of a digestive nature, particularly in the event of a slowdown in transit after ingestion of a large quantity of straw. Traditionally, it is also used as a depurative due to its action on the liver. A source of magnesium, it finally contributes to muscular and nervous well-being. Externally, it is beneficial in cases of local swelling, engorgement or muscle contracture. Please note: Epsom salt care product has notable laxative properties. Its use therefore requires respecting the recommended doses.
