Please follow the steps outlined below before using the SaHoMa-II nebulizer: Connecting the SaHoMa-II mounting strap to the case Place the SaHoMa-II strap on the mask using the two clips. Make sure the strap is adjustable on the left side. Installing the seal ring Place the seal ring slowly and carefully on the horse’s head. Be careful not to leave the seal ring in the sun or near a radiator, as it can become porous due to heat and UV rays. As the seal ring is made of foam, it can be cut if one of the three standard sizes does not fit your horse. Mounting the nebulizer Place the mask on the horse's head using the sealing ring. Now place the strap behind the horse’s ears. Adjust the size. Connection to the battery Slide the battery along the mask guide rails. Filter attachment Insert a filter membrane into the filter basket. Insert the filter basket forward onto the two side mounting pins of the mask. Next, press the basket straps so they secure. Use of spray chambers To attach the spray chamber cover, first open it by turning it 80° counterclockwise, then lift it upwards. Now attach the lid to the spray chamber. Then place the cap on the nebulization chamber and close it by turning it 80° clockwise. Now place the fixed cover of the spray chamber. When changing the spray chamber, remember to remove the cover. You can clean it, for example, in hot water with a mild detergent and then use it again. Fill the spray chambers Use the medicine mixing cup to mix the inhalation solution. Fill the inhalation solution into the mixing cup and shake it well so that the inhalation solution combines with each other. Then put the solution into the spray chamber. Use only inhalation solutions approved for inhalation. If in doubt, read the technical information of the medicine or ask your veterinarian. Failure to follow these instructions may result in a shortened lifespan of the SaHoMa-II nebulizer.

Connect the battery to the mask Connect the mask and the battery to one of the two outputs using the connection cable. Attach the protective cover Slide the protective cover onto the guide rails above the spray chamber and battery until it audibly clicks into place.

The SaHoMa nebulizer has two programs: Program 1: Automatic shutdown Program 1 is a program that automatically turns off the nebulizer. It turns off automatically as soon as there is no more inhalation solution in the nebulization chamber. Program 2: Time program Program 2 should be used for medications with high viscosity (viscous) or those that tend to foam, as these medications cause the nebulizer to stop prematurely using program 1. This is an hourly program, in which you can set the desired nebulization time. After the time expires, the nebulizer turns off. Start-up Program 1: Start the battery by pressing the side button for 3 seconds. Immediately after start-up, the light bar moves from left to right, the light is solid green and nebulization begins. The nebulization process takes place continuously and as long as the inhalation solution is in the nebulization chamber. When nebulization is finished, the battery indicates the end of the process with two light bars which rotate synchronously from the center to the right and left. After a while, the battery will automatically turn off. It can also be turned off manually by briefly pressing the side button. To activate automatic shutdown, the battery must operate for at least two minutes.

Program 2: Start the battery by holding the side button. Hold the button until the nebulization process begins, then a red light bar appears. You can now set the desired time in five minute intervals, where one bar corresponds to five minutes. For a nebulization duration of 10 minutes, keep the button pressed until a second bar appears. You can therefore set a duration of 25 minutes maximum. If you hold the button down, the display starts again from the beginning. After reaching the desired time setting, release the button. The light bar moves from left to right and the light is permanently green. When the time is up, the nebulizer stops. The battery indicates the end of the process with two light bars, which move synchronously from the center to the right and left. After a while, the battery will automatically turn off. The battery can also be turned off manually by briefly pressing the side button. In this program, there is no automatic stop when the inhalation solution is completely nebulized! Therefore, please ensure that you have filled enough solution for the chosen time period. Running dry can damage the nebulizer. The battery resets after being turned off. The desired time must therefore be set again during the next inhalation. Inhalation with low temperatures At low temperatures, drugs may change viscosity. If the temperature is too cold, the points mentioned above may cause a decrease in nebulization performance and therefore nebulization takes longer than usual. For trouble-free inhalation in winter, please follow these tips: Storage Tips The more charged the battery, the better the power delivered. In winter, it is therefore preferable to recharge the battery and keep it above 70% capacity if possible. Keep the nebulizer in a dry place at room temperature Usage tips Keep the horse as warm as possible Clean at room temperature

After completing the inhalation process, remove the mask. To do this, you must first loosen the strap. Then remove the mask with the sealing ring, then the strap from the horse's head. Before removing the mask, it is necessary to remove the battery and the nebulizer chamber. To do this, open the cover of the and remove both components. Never remove the mask with the battery and nebulizer chamber as this may result in residue of the inhalation solution in the battery and possible liquid damage. Now clean the different elements. It is important to clean the nebulizer thoroughly so that you can perform hygienic inhalation procedures and avoid the risk of infection. Battery : Wipe the battery with a very slightly damp cloth. Dry the battery completely with a cloth and let it air dry on an absorbent surface. The battery is not waterproof! Cables must not come into contact with water or any other liquid. So make sure that the cables are always dry and that cleaning does not deposit any water on them! Do not immerse the device in water or other liquids. Install the device so that it cannot fall into water. Do not use the device if it has fallen into water. Do not use the device while showering. Do not use the device near flammable materials. Never use this appliance if the power cord is damaged and the appliance does not operate properly The nebulization chamber: The nebulizer chamber should be cleaned after each inhalation. Use the measuring bottle with distilled water to cleaning after each inhalation. Fill the nebulizer chamber with approximately 2 ml of distilled water from the measuring bottle. Shake the spray chamber then pour in the distilled water. Refill the spray chamber with approximately 1 ml of distilled water Start the battery and wait until the filled distilled water is completely nebulized. Then turn off the battery Allow the open spray chamber to dry on an absorbent surface. Ensure that no residual liquid can return to the membrane. We recommend using a different spray chamber per horse and medication to avoid unwanted interactions, cross-contamination or infection.
