Fig Bud Macerate by ESC Laboratoire comes from the fig tree. The edible fig tree is one of the important plants of the Mediterranean basin where it has been cultivated for millennia. It is the only European representative of the Ficus genus which brings together nearly six hundred species, most of them tropical. Thanks to its buds, we obtain a very effective concentrated macerate, the most used in gemmotherapy. Its benefits are multiple. The use of fig tree buds in gemmotherapy is recent and is of interest for its broad spectrum action. Indeed, fig bud macerate has balancing properties as well as a natural soothing action. It is renowned both for its regulatory properties on nervous balance, but also its soothing action on the digestive system. This natural extract is therefore particularly recommended for horses that are anxious and prone to stress-related digestive disorders. The interest of gemmotherapy is that it uses the embryonic tissues of plants to act on the body. These tissues are extracted from parts of plants still growing (buds or young shoots) which are particularly concentrated in active ingredients (minerals, vitamins, phytohormones) necessary for the proper development of the plant and its protection against external aggression. These plant parts are then macerated in a water – alcohol – glycerin mixture for several weeks. We then obtain a concentrated mother macerate, also called hydroalcoholic extract of fresh buds. The Fig bud macerate care product is produced in France from certified organic buds.
