Harpagophytum procumbens or devil's claw, source of harpagoside, is the reference plant in the management of sensitive joints in horses. Several scientific studies carried out in humans have shown that harpagophytum is effective in reducing pain caused by osteoarthritis. Harpagophytum root is recommended to provide comfort and flexibility to the joints of sensitive horses, especially old horses.
What to combine the harpagophytum care product with?
In order to reinforce the action of harpagophytum, it is possible to supplement with a chondroprotectant such as MSM, a source of bioavailable sulfur, known for its benefits during inflammation of connective tissues. In horses with sensitive stomachs, harpagophytum can be replaced by Boswellia serrata or Meadowsweet as a pure plant. Analytical constituents: crude proteins 5.83%, crude fats 2.80%, crude fiber 5.30%, crude ashes 10.00%, humidity 3.70%.Directions for use: dose to add to the basic ration for an adult horse (550kg): 15 g per day for 3 weeks. If possible, distribute in 2 daily doses. To be renewed if necessary. In case of prolonged use: divide the dose by two. Do not hesitate to seek the advice of your veterinarian before use or extension.
Precautions for use: not recommended for pregnant or lactating mares or foals. Not recommended in case of gastric ulcer. Close tightly after use. Store in a cool, dry place. Keep out of reach of children.
